Clinic Director/Chiropractor

Our lead practitioner is Dr Richard Record (Doctor of Chiropractic). Richard specialises in the non-surgical treatment of lower back pain, sciatica, disc problems including slipped/herniated disc and pain caused by arthritis of the spine. He is licensed to take and read x-rays and refer for all imaging including MRI and CT scans.

After obtaining a BSc in Applied Biology and driven by a strong desire to make a significant impact on the well-being of others, Richard chose to pursue a five-year, full time Chiropractic Masters programme.

Following his studies and having worked in various clinics, Richard returned to his home county of Devon and started working in Exeter in 2010. His aim and founding principle for the clinic was to bring the most comprehensive and advanced, non-surgical treatment of lower back pain and sciatica to the area.

Richard lives in Exeter with his wife Sarah, a nurse at the Royal Devon & Exeter hospital, daughter Lily (age 13) and son Max (age 11).

In his spare time you will find Richard out on his bike, playing tennis, windsurfing or sailing a dinghy. In 2019 Richard completed his first 100-mile cycle ride, the Nello in support of the local Force cancer charity. Richard is also a keen skier and snowboarder.

Lawrence Cavanagh Sports Therapist Exeter.JPG

Lawrence Cavanagh BSc (Hons)

Senior Practitioner

Lawrence has spent a significant part of his life deeply involved in sports and the fascinating world of the optimum function of the human body. Rugby and snow sports have been true passions, and his journey to helping people began with an injury sustained whilst playing rugby. That experience sparked a curiosity about how our bodies can recover from such setbacks.

Embarking on a three-year full-time degree in Sports Therapy, all sorts of knowledge about helping people recover back from injuries was learned as part of the course. Becoming particularly fascinated by the intricate processes of healing and rehabilitation led to an interest in addressing issues related to complex knee and shoulder joints. With commitment to non-surgical treatment methods comes a belief in harnessing the body's natural healing mechanisms to aid recovery.

Born in Ascot but calling the cosy village of Cove, just outside of Tiverton home since the age of eight. With a love for sports starting at a young age and still enjoying activities like kayaking, walking, and paddleboarding. Lawrence has also dedicated many years to the Cullompton Rugby Club, where he has not only improved his skills but also formed some enduring friendships.

Outside of professional life, you'll often Lawrence on the snowy slopes during the winter months, revelling in the thrill of snow sports. At home he lives with a faithful companion, Wilf, a lively 9-year-old lurcher cross-spaniel. Together they like to explore the beautiful countryside surrounding the beautiful countryside of Devon.
